Adult Programs

The adult curriculum offers the following training and presentations: (1) Everyone Has a Role, (2) Darkness to Light Stewards of Children, and (3) CyberSafety 101.

Everyone Has a Role helps individuals understand child abuse recognition and reporting. In addition, learn to recognize signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect, discuss case examples to help underscore the problem of abuse, identify steps to reporting, and what to expect after reporting.

Darkness to Light Stewards of Children works with adults in community and youth-serving organizations, providing them with the tools to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. It’s the only evidence-informed, third-party evaluated child sexual abuse prevention training of its kind. Darkness to Light Stewards of Children focuses on adult education because, ultimately, adults are responsible for keeping children safe. This training approaches the difficult topic of child sexual abuse in a way that is empowering, not fear-focused or depressing.

CyberSafety 101 educates adults about protecting their children from potentially harmful things on the internet and teaches the need for safety and security online. It’s incredibly important for internet safety, particularly because, as a society, we increasingly spend more and more time online. ECHO’s CyberSafety 101 program educates adults on using information and communication technology responsibly with children. The program will focus on the following: (1) how to keep information safe and secure, (2) setting boundaries, (3) signs of grooming, (4) using good ‘netiquette’, and (5) Kentucky Sexting Statutes.

We appreciate the support and dedication from several local Grantors & Community Partners. Thank you!
