Darkness to Light: Stewards of Children®
Prevention Starts With Awareness
Child sexual abuse is more common than many realize—but it’s also preventable. Darkness to Light: Stewards of Children® is a nationally recognized, evidence-informed training designed to give adults the tools to protect children before abuse happens.
This program is ideal for parents, teachers, coaches, youth workers, clergy, volunteers, and anyone working with or around children. It is the only third-party evaluated training of its kind and is available in both English and Spanish.
What You’ll Learn
Stewards of Children is built around a practical, five-step approach to prevention. Participants walk away with:
- A clear understanding of what child sexual abuse is—and isn’t
- Knowledge of the warning signs in children and adults
- Insight into grooming behaviors and how to interrupt them
- Actionable steps to create safer environments
- Confidence to respond compassionately and appropriately if a child discloses abuse
Through real-world case studies and survivor stories, participants explore both the emotional realities and legal responsibilities of keeping kids safe.
Why It Matters
It’s easy to assume child sexual abuse is rare, or that it couldn’t happen “here.” But statistics—and survivor stories—tell a different story.
This training shifts the responsibility from children to adults by empowering grownups to be proactive, vigilant, and responsive. It’s not about fear—it’s about readiness, clarity, and community commitment.
Protect children. Empower yourself.
